Dr. T. S. Satyanarayana Rao, President of the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS), participated in a series of important engagements in New Delhi focused on mental health awareness, public education, and academic collaboration.
As part of the visit, Dr. Rao participated in a Doordarshan programme alongside Dr. Vipul Janardhan, with coordination by Mr. Amit Arora and Mr. Sunil Dutt of Doordarshan. The discussions highlighted the importance of mental health awareness and public engagement through national media.
The visit also included interactions with Sri Chaitanya Keerthy Swamiji from OSHO and Mr. Vijay Kataria, popularly known for his role as Lord Ram in the Ramleela productions, fostering dialogue on mental well-being and societal awareness.
Dr. Rao further met with Dr. Rajinder Damija, Director, and Dr. Deepak Kumar, Head of Department, at the Institute of Human Behaviour & Allied Sciences (IHBAS), New Delhi. The visit included engaging discussions with faculty members, postgraduate students, and resident doctors on advancing psychiatric education, research, and patient care.
